Kelly, one of my dearest friends, I miss you everyday...I remember our frequent phone calls and all the laughs and high school memories that we shared.  I remember the growing pains in our 20's and our long walks along the Corte Madera Creek and up at Phoenix Lake on the weekends, and how we stayed close for almost 56 years!  I am thankful for having you as such a good friend!  I truly miss you!

Kelly and I met in Mr. Garibaldi's history class in our Freshman year at Drake High School in 1966 and our friendship has continued for all these years.  We were quite a pair, often called an unlikely duo, but we enjoyed a 56 year friendship that saw us through a lot of happiness , adventures, and life challenges.  I treasured our friendship and last spoke to her shortly before her passing.  She was a warm, caring, adventurous, and fun person who  had a heart of gold. She always joked about my being her chauffeur as I was the first one of our friends to have a car!  We loved driving into Fisherman's Wharf on a Friday night, having sundaes at Ghirardelli's Square, riding the cable cars, and checking out the sailors on leave...such young innocence and exciting times!  I was always relieved to get back home, not quite sure I got talked into talking to sailors I didn't even know!  Our great escape, changing cable cars!
After moving to Oregon almost 5 years ago, we talked every week and texted in between.  I miss our long conversations, memories, and laughter.  Kelly always called me, "Sis" and I returned that compliment.  When she became ill, she was always strong, positive, and upbeat..."she still had airplanes to jump out of and wasn't going anywhere!"  As we planned our 70th birthday get together this year,  I suggested that hang gliding  would be a better option!
Kelly touched many lives and I cherish my memories...my heart has a hole in it...I miss her so much, but I know that she is in a better place and will always live on in my heart.
My deepest sympathy go to her brother, Mike, her good friend for many years, Jane, her brother-in-law, Dave who she adored, and all her other good friends that she often talked about.  Kelly was the best and those who had the opportunity to share her life were truly lucky! May she rest in peace, but knowing her, she will be shaking things up!
