Margaret Mary McInnis Margaret Mary (Peggy) McInnis, age 90, long-time resident of San Rafael, CA passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2016. With her family by her side, she joined her husband of 47 years, Robert Joseph McInnis (1990), and her brother Jack Agell (2002). She is survived by her sister, Barbara Holden, six sons; Michael (Tanya), James, Daniel (Barbara), Gregory (Cindy), Garrett (Sandi), and David as well as her 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her second husband of 20 years, James Dukes. She is known to family and friends as Peggy, Mom, and Mimi. Peggy was a beautiful, and independent woman with strong family values, devoted mother and friend. Peggy was born in San Francisco on September 6, 1925, and attended Presentation High School in San Francisco and Stanford University. While studying at Stanford she met the love of her life Robert McInnis. They were married for 47 years until Bob's passing. Peggy and Bob raised six energetic and adventurous boys. Aside from making bologna sandwiches every morning for her sons and husband and dedicating her life to her family, she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital, and volunteered at various charitable organizations, including San Rafael Convalescent Hospital with her life-long best friend Vi Swanson. She was very involved with the local Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish, where she made so many wonderful life-long friendships. She always looked forward to her weekly lunches with her neighborhood friends. There are many fond memories of large family gatherings where she would be the life of the party and dance to Zorba the Greek or do the Hawaiian Hula. She was an avid tennis and golf player, hiker, and world traveler. Lake Tahoe, Sun River, Hawaii, Mendocino, and Yosemite were all cherished vacation spots for her. Peggy will be fondly remembered by her family and friends. A memorial funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Isabella's Catholic Church, One Trinity Way, San Rafael, 94903. A rosary service will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Keaton's Mortuary, 1022 E St., San Rafael, CA 94901.
