Mary Janey Jane Rippingham Williams

Janey passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband of 64 years, children and grandchildren on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 12:40 PM. She was born in Tonopah, Nevada on February 12, 1927. She attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1945-46 and left to get married in December 1946. She is survived by her husband, Col. Francis L. Williams and her children; Patrick (Colleen), Kathy, Diane (Jim Newman), Terry (Elaine), Kevin (Jill), John (Kathy), Dennis (Dana), Julie (Nick Kunst); 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was a true supporter of her husband's career in the military by moving 22 times over 24 years in three countries and 14 states while raising eight children; finally settling in San Rafael, California in 1970. Janey had a passion for gardening and created an oasis of roses and iris in her own backyard. She worked as an active volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul's in San Rafael for 14 years. Friends are invited to join the family in a celebratory mass at St. Isabella's Church on Tuesday November 30, 2010 at 11 AM. Rosary will be held on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 1 PM at Keaton's in San Rafael. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul's of Marin. direction of Keaton's Mortuary, San Rafael, CA.
