A MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY
In Memory of Michael Cullen (1944–2025) In Sausalito’s golden light, he walked with grace, A gentle soul, a shining face. With a smile that warmed the morning air, Michael Cullen was truly rare. Born to John and Rita’s care, With sisters Noreen, Deborah there. A life of art, of truth, of style, He made the world more bright, worthwhile. A Berkeley artist, mind refined, With colors bold and sharp design. An educator, mentor, guiding spark, He left in every life a mark. From San Francisco’s winding streets, To London’s stage and Broadway’s beats, He drank in opera, lived for plays, Each moment filled with rich bouquets. With Roger, love of forty years, They built a life through joy and tears. In every room his hands had touched, The world felt softer, loved so much. The waves of Hawaii, the ocean breeze, Gave Michael solace, gave him peace. He traveled far, but always knew Where beauty lived—and made it new. He read, he talked, he made you feel That art and joy and love are real. He shopped for treasures, fine and small, Collected beauty, cherished all. Now silence fills the rooms he graced, But memories will not be erased. He’ll live in color, voice, and song, In hearts of those he loved so long. Farewell, dear Michael, rest in light, Your spirit dances, free and bright. Forever missed, forever near, In every whispered laugh and tear.
