I too was a Dominican classmate of Nanci's and was with her at Carol Brandt's reunion party in 2018. It was great to see her and share some throw-back memories of our younger days. I know Nanci was in treatment and facing a difficult journey, but for those few hours it was a treasure to reflect together as a group of gals who were simple in our passions at that innocent time in our lives.

I am so grateful that Nanci came to that reunion and laughed with us all that day, because that will be our enduring memory for those of us who only see each other in passing every few decades.

Her life contributions and joie de vivre that was clearly evident in her, stand as tribute to her.

Nanci and I were classmates at Dominican Lower School in San Rafael before it moved to the San Domenico campus 1966. We were the first 8th grade graduating class. We were good friends and shared a love of horses. I have some photos to upload and hope they all make it. Last time she was with us was our 2018 San Domenico Lower School reunion at my house and she and I talked "horses" almost the entire time!

I’m so sad to hear of her passing. I have known her since we were six or seven. We use to play horses together at Dominican and her house. She always enjoyed my birthday party’s. She left us way too young. I am so glad I got to see her a year ago at the Dominican elementary lunch. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband and family. My maiden name was Samson.

Biography

Nanci Brusati-Dias, beloved wife, daughter, sister and friend passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019. Forever an original, Nanci’s life was filled with a devoted family, many valued friends and always horses.

When she wasn’t entertaining, riding her beloved horse Charlie Brown, or working diligently as a Senior Vice President at Citi, Nanci and Tom, her husband of 37 years, loved to travel and enjoyed many vacations near and far. Everything from scuba diving to skiing was usually on the menu.

A graduate of Dominican (San Domenico) School, she was a strong believer in her Catholic faith. Nanci graduated from San Rafael High School in 1970 and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from San Francisco State University. She was a California licensed Certified Public Accountant and worked in the banking industry for the majority of her career, most recently at Citi in San Francisco. She feared nothing, faced everything with dedication and conviction and never backed away from a challenge. A savvy businesswoman, she was respected and revered by those she mentored and those with whom she partnered. Her life was in motion from start to finish. Whether closing a deal or planning a party, Nanci made sure to do it right, and with elegance, class and grace.

“If the people we love are stolen from us, the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them.”
