OBITUARY

Raymond A. N. Bradley, Jr.

November 29, 1944August 8, 2019

Ray was born in New Haven, CT, on November 29, 1944, to Raymond Arthur Nauman Bradley and Georgina Kreile. He grew up in Hamden, CT, and graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy in Tom's River, NJ, as well as Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

Ray always had a sparkle in his eye and a quick wit. His sense of humor, which he attributed to his Grandpa Kreile, was good natured and quirky. Ray shared his humor with his own children and grandchildren. The kids loved it.

His grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy. Games of chess, Monopoly, jigsaw puzzles, cards, and Ray's stories of the "olden days" were among the children's favorite pastimes with their “Grampy”.

Ray's genuine warmth and charm was felt by family, friends and all who met him. Instinctively, four-legged animals were drawn to him. He always had a pet dog or cat at his feet or on his lap.

Music brought Ray tremendous joy throughout his life, a love he shared with his son Jared. Ray played piano, sang and was a self-taught guitarist. His music was most influenced by the great blues and jazz performers.

As an engineer, Ray was always interested in how things worked and building his own designs. One of his major accomplishments was the restoration of an 1860 farmhouse on which he worked side by side with his son Scott.

The salty air and the ocean breeze were always calling to Ray. He enjoyed sailing his boat in the waters off the coast of New England. His final resting place will be at sea.

From the beginning, the love of music ran deep. Macey-Grace and Grampy had a bond that was unbreakable. She was his princess, and him her king, in the kingdom of Grammy and Grampy. He will be missed dearly, but will live for ever in our hearts and thru the love of music passed down thru the generations. Sail easy dad, the sky is your ocean and the sun your guide.. Until we meet again,
