I had the pleasure of knowing Richard through his friends the Lucia brothers at the "New Russian Hill" market in San Francisco during the 1980's.  He would drop by with pastries every friday.  I made the mistake of buying his old Mercury, but forgave him.  Later on, I visited him in his office, and we would swap jokes.    All in all, he was a great guy, and I will always remember him.

Chief, I am truly sorry for your lose. I wish you fond memories of your father.

My father, Frederick Lee, and Mr. Savelli were "neighbors" and great friends when Dad moved from Chinatown to Cow Hollow. Over ten years, they saw each other often at the Filbert and Laguna St. office.  They shared the daily Chronicle, common investments, the Giants, the sport teams, etc.  Dad considered his day "not complete" unless he had his daily chat with Mr. Savelli.  Towards the end of Dad's life, Mr. Savelli would drop the Chronicle by Dad's house so as to say he was still thnking of their friendship.  He will be remembered by all the Lees for his kindness and the fine words he spoke at Dad's funeral.  With deepest sympathy to all of Mr. Savelli's family for the loss of such a wonderful human being.

Ritchie was my friend but first he was Anthony Dito's friend and nephew.Before 2003 they talked almost every day about anything and everything--the Giants,49er's,stocks,the horses,whatever. Both were smart and interesting.They loved their families and were proud of them. They were not far apart in ages (1908 & 1918) but were like cousin's. Tony's always loved to visit Ritchies office on Laguna in the City and they often had lunch at nearby Fort Mason Officer's club. Ritchie made that commute everyday for  years from his home in Marin until well into his 80's. In later years when Tony and Mickey were gone

Greg, I still recall meeting your dad at your installation and seeing how proud he was of you during your moment.  Keep a tight grip on those great memories, as they will bring you much comfort in the day and years to come.

I'll miss my Uncle Richie, 93 years how wonderful you had him with you such a long time.

I can still remember us 11 cousins (13 after Sandy & Janie came along) running around at Nana's house every Xmas, like it was yesterday.

We will miss your Dad, our uncle and everyone's friend so much.  Your first cousin, Bobby.

I shared office space next to Richard for many years. I called him "Pops." I had to walk through his office to get in or out of mine. We talked a lot. He loved bad jokes, puns, and trivia, so I bought him a "Joke of the Day" (or similar) calendar each year. He'd say "Come on in here, you gotta hear this one!" We laughed a lot. We flirted too, I'll admit it. He had a sparkle in his eye and a joy for life, even though he did enjoy grousing too -- especially about the Giants. I love you, Pops. Rest in peace.

Dear John, Kendal, Tricia and Grace,

We were so sorry to learn about your Dad's/Grandpa's passing.  Wish we had known him to hear all the wonderful stories he must have had to tell. Surely he has an amazing family who will hold his memory dear and always close to their hearts. Thinking of you at this very sad and difficult time.  We're here if there's anything you need.

Please accept my sincere condolences to you for the loss of your father.  He was quite obviously a remarkable man and an exceptional role model.  You and your family are truly blessed to have been a part of his life and for him to be a part of yours.  Rest in peace, Richard.

Chief, I lost my Mom just a couple of years ago, and I know what a great loss it is.  My prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time and may God give you strength in your time of need.

We love you and will miss you, Dad.  Gary will miss the telephone talks about the Giants and life in general that we had over 28 years, and Sue will always miss her dad, with whom she had a very special relationship.  RIP.  Heaven will never be the same.

I met Mr Savelli only once or twice, but his office was located about a block and a half from my parent's home in Cow Hollow.  For many years, my Dad would drop by almost daily to talk sports [Giants, 49ers, Cal Bears] and the news headlines.  The two of them developed a close friendship, and Mr Savelli talked about those memories during the funeral services for my Dad more than 10 years ago.  On behalf of my Dad, Frederick Lee, and the rest of the family, I would like to extend condolences and sympathies to his family and loved ones upon his passing.
