Stephen Steve E. Geary

Steve Geary, 72, passed away suddenly on Friday, the 17th of September 2010. Born February 18, 1938, Steve was a life-long resident of San Rafael. He attended St. Raphael's School and Marin Catholic High School. Steve had a passion for hunting that came from his Great Uncle, Judge Edward I. Butler. He proudly joined the United States Marine Corps. and was on active duty for three years. His motto remained, "Once a Marine, always a Marine." Married for 48 years to Victoria Della Santa Geary, they were blessed with two children. Steve was in the automobile industry for over 40 years. He particularly enjoyed working with the public. Steve made friends very easily with simply a smile and a firm handshake. He was everyone's neighbor. Steve was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Catherine Geary, his sister, Joanna Cutler and his brother, Donald Geary. He is survived by his wife, Vicky, his sister, Helen Geary, his daughter, Karen, his son, Ed, their spouses, Bill Kastigar and Dayna Geary, as well as five grandchildren: Katie, Sierra, Wyatt, Andrew and Emily. On Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Keaton's Mortuary, 1022 E Street, San Rafael, CA, friends and family are invited to attend the viewing from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the rosary being said at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, September 24, 2010, at 10:00 AM, mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael's Church, located at 1104 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael, CA. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Raphael's Church St. Vincent de Paul Conference.
