Joe had Bill on his mind lately wondering if you were still living in the Bay Area so he asked me to google Bill and then we read of his passing on in January of this year. We are saddened by his loss and yours. Joe just turned 86 and doesn't travel anymore, not even to SFO otherwise he would have been in touch with you and Bill. Joe will always treasure his memories of Bill. If you come to Sacramento we would love to see you. God Bless

I was an Army Private under General Ecker's command and his professional yet personal approach to working with his troops was an inspiration. Six months ago I visited with Bill and we reminisced about the Army and how it has evolved. He was just as warm and approachable as ever. A good man.
