Ailene Roberta Gallerani

She was born on March 9, 1997 at Brockton Hospital and lived the first few years of her life in Whitman with her beloved best friend and grandmother, Ailene Marshall, for whom she was named. At the age of two, she moved to Bourne, where she grew up raised by her parents, Therese and Thomas Gallerani, and alongside her several siblings. She attended Bourne High School, where she captained the tennis team as well as played soccer and basketball and from which she graduated in 2014. As an adult, she dedicated the majority of her life to caring for the elderly as a CNA and in pursuing her goals of becoming a nurse, both in her home state of Massachusetts and in Florida, where she fulfilled her childhood dreams by moving to in 2020.

Being an aunt was something that brought Ailene immense pride, and she spoiled any kid lucky enough to call her “Auntie” with both presents and presence, especially in her last months of life at home in Massachusetts. She loved all things spooky season and wanted to adopt every cat that crossed her path. For those who knew her, though, her memory is marked by her joy, her heart, and her larger than life personality that could manage to fill a room the moment she entered.

She is survived through the love of her partner, Nathan Trottier, her parents, Therese and Thomas Gallerani, her siblings Randi Gallerani, James Gallerani, and Michelle Gallerani, her future brother-in-law, Philip Malouin, her niece, Laela Gallerani, her grandparents Roberta Orcutt Colley, Frank Colley, Thomas Gallerani and Beverly Gallerani, as well as her birth mother, Tammy Marshall, numerous aunts and uncles, countless cousins, and other loved ones. She is predeceased by her grandfather, James “Jimmy” Orcutt, her grandmother and self-identified soul twin, Ailene Marshall, as well as many beloved pets, with whom her loved ones find solace in her reunion.

The family will be holding private services, but will be hosting a celebration of life at a later date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who remember to honor her memory through donations to a cat shelter of choice such as the People for Cats in Falmouth, the Woonsocket Cat Sanctuary or the MSPCA, and by petting the next cat you see.
