What can you say when you lose your mother? She was my rock, my best friend, my advisor and  by being exceptionally strict, the woman who molded me into what I am today. Her favorite saying to me was, "Karen, you can do ANYTHING!" I grew up believing that and because of her I accomplished many things I am sure I would not have done. She encouraged free thinking, exercise, thinking positive thoughts and being kind to others. She and my father were each other's best friend and they held hands always and she sat two inches away from his as he drove the car. She was born with great beauty and was the best looking 98 year old around! She also had great impact on all of my children and she and my dad lived out their last decades in an in-law apartment in our home. Frugality, giving to others, always looking on the "sunny side of the street" were also her mantras. She also had the ability to stop me ten feet away with "the look".  I still have not mastered that look! The day before she died, I asked her to send me a sign that she was ok after she died. She looked at me disdainfully  and said, "I won't send any signs.....then a few minutes  later she said, but if I did, I would send a rainbow.....On the day she died, a huge double rainbow, the only double rainbow I have ever seen, was in the sky above the ocean and seemed to end right at our street, where the cottage I inherited from her and my father sits. It was breathtakingly beautiful and so reassuring that the soul lives on after the body dies. As the months go by, I miss her more and more but know I will see her again.I love you mom. Sad news, a big loss. Ann was always a lady. Always welcoming, positive, with something nice to say. My condolences to Karen, Kevin, and their families.

My deepest sympathy.  Ann was and will always be remembered as such a loving and wonderful person! Auntie Ann may you Rest In Peace in the presence of the Lord with Uncle John by your side. Until we meet again I will keep you in my heart. 

Deepest sympathy to my cousins and their families on the loss of Ann Moriarty. I remember Ann as always delighted to see me, and the feeling was mutual. She was a loving and generous woman who lived a rich, full life. Rest In Peace.

I will always remember how Ann and John would walk to the beach with hands held lovingly. And of course, I and friends didn’t give them much peace once they settled on the sand. We loved talking to them. What a great couple! What a kind and peaceful woman!
