To the Harrington Family

I remember the day you mom came to Shawme Heights to fill out her application to live in the new building. I was there in Shawme 1 as all the people came with their families who were going to move into new building. I loved her instantly. It wasn’t until the last 2 years that I really came to know Ann. I was bringing her Holy Communion to her apartment after Mass at Corpus Christi Parish. Even though Ann was in poor health, she gave me the great gift of sharing her faith life with me every Sunday. I could not wait to visit her with the Holy Sacrament and pray with her. We became great friends and she made me laugh so much. I had my own health problems and your Mom helped me accept so many situations in my own life. We talked about how much Our love for Jesus and Mary had sustained us all our lives. We laughed so much together. I never met anyone who could talk so long and laugh so much.
I’m so sad that I can’t talk to her on the phone anymore but I will be praying for her and to her forever. She was a gift from God to me and to all who came to be her friend. God bless Ann and all the Harrington family. Love Sheila O’ Shaughnessy

I have the fondest memories of my godmother, Anne Marie Harrington. She was a cherished family friend of my parents, Nancy & Gil Dempsey of Franklin. She would spend time visiting and they would all share stories for hours on end. I can still hear her laughter and see her smile. As her godson, she'd always want to know what I was up to and be most encouraging and supportive. She was also of great comfort to my mother after my father passed away in 2000 and again when my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2001. At my mother's funeral, she was there for my siblings once again providing support and comfort to all of us. I will always remember her as a vibrant, compassionate and loyal friend of our family.

My deepest condolences to the Harrington family and friends.
