Tony led a full and fruitful life for 85 years and is survived by his adoring family: Steve, Margaret and Maria Cambone, Steve, Kathy, Kait and Meg Brown, Joe Cambone and Dan LaBarre, Tom, Tony, Molly and (great-granddaughter) Madelyn Cambone.
For many years, Tony and his wife of 60 years, Kay Cambone, lived and worked in Highland, New York. Tony was known throughout the community for his genial nature and honesty when he worked as a sought-after butcher and then as a respected life insurance salesperson. He was active at St. Augustine's Parish and in the Rotary Club. He had many friends in Highland. Later, he and Kay settled in Sandwich, Cape Cod where Tony remained active in community activities, on his Condominium Association Board and at his Parish, Corpus Christi.
After Kay's long illness and death in 2012, Tony renewed his life in Boston where he lived in the South End community near Joe and Dan, making friends in the community garden and joining the senior community at St. Anthony's Shrine at Arch Street. There he met Rachel Silva with whom he enjoyed two wonderful years of companionship and adventure.
Tony enjoyed life, he loved his family and his friends. In return he was a most admired and loved man. He will be forever missed.
A Mass in Celebration of Tony's life will be said at the Corpus Christi Parish in Sandwich at 10:30 AM, Monday June 22. Burial will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Hyannis.
In lieu of flowers, we feel certain that Tony would want any contributions to go to the work of the Friars at St. Anthony's Shrine.
