Arthur W. Jolin, III, 71, passed away on October 23, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital, with his loving wife by his side. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, on August 22, 1955, Arthur was the son of the late Arthur W. Jolin, Jr. and Mary Jolin (Monti). He resided in Bourne, Massachusetts at the time of passing but was from Greenville, RI, and Sandwich, MA.
Arthur grew up in Greenville, Rhode Island, and graduated from La Salle Academy in 1973. He continued his education at Providence College, earning a B.A. in Education and History in 1977, and later at Bryant College, where he earned a B.S. in Business and Computers in 1983. His life reflected steady devotion to learning and to the work set before him—pursuits he approached with a thoughtful, hard-working spirit and a generous willingness to share what he knew.
Arthur taught for several years at a Catholic school in Woonsocket and worked as an office manager in Providence, Rhode Island, for several companies. In 1988, Arthur began his career at Amica as an Applications Programmer, dedicating nearly 29 years to the company and advancing to Senior IT Developer. Known for his expertise and reliability, he contributed to numerous technology projects and earned lasting respect as a valued mentor—someone who gave freely of his time and knowledge, helping colleagues throughout the organization.
A beloved presence in the lives of many, Arthur was deeply devoted to the young athletes he coached. He coached youth baseball leagues in Sandwich, winning numerous local, state, and New England tournaments at different levels of baseball. Most recently, he coached and was team GM for Post 188 American Legion Baseball in Sandwich. His compassionate encouragement, genuine care, and steady guidance left a lasting impression on the players he led—shaping not only how they played the game, but also the decisions they made beyond the field. The moments shared on the bench and on the diamond remain treasured memories for those who had the privilege to learn from him.
Arthur’s love of sports extended well beyond coaching. He attended every home game of the PC Hockey Friars with his lucky shirt, played fantasy baseball at Amica and seldom lost, and was an avid baseball card collector. He was also a Civil War “buff” who loved visiting Gettysburg battle sites; on every vacation he and Colleen took, he made special trips to see the General Hancock site.
After retirement, Arthur and Colleen spent winters in Bluffton, South Carolina, enjoying the warm weather. Arthur cherished his time spent with all his grandchildren, whether down south or on the Cape. Family meant everything to him, and his devoted presence was a steady source of love and support.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Colleen, to whom he was married for 9 years, though they had known each other since 1998; her children, Steve, Shannon, Amy, and Carrie; his brother, Joseph Jolin, and his wife, Robin Jolin; his nine grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
