Barbara D. Hanley of Sandwich MA, passed away on May 4, 2018 after a long illness. Barbara was the wife of Howard E. (Gene) Hanley. Born in Taunton MA she was the daughter of the late Irene L and James A. Bolen.
A dedicated wife, mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. Nana was loved dearly by the family to who she devoted her heart to caring for, she is survived by her husband of more than 55 years, Gene Hanley, her Daughter Sue Brennan of Sandwich, Her Son Brent Hanley and his wife Sue of East Sandwich, her granddaughter Katherine Brennan and her husband Ed Knowles of Middleboro, her grandson Andrew Brennan of Las Cruces New Mexico and his fiancé Miriam Baca as well as the light of her life, her Great Granddaughter Isabelle (Izzy) Knowles of Middleboro.
Barbara was, witty, fun loving, welcoming, always the hostess of family events. She also had had many artistic talents that ranged from Scrimshaw, to Rug Braiding and a passion for heirloom sewing. Every craft that she tried she mastered to its full extent.
Barbara’s greatest passion though, was for her family. The glue that held everyone together she was always generous in heart and spirit and kept her family close.
Services were held privately, however there will be a Celebration of life at a later time to be determined.
