

East Sandwich: Barbara Ruth (Mullen) Thomson, 95, of East Sandwich passed away on September 28, 2012 in Kingston, MA. She was the wife of the late William B. Thomson and the daughter of the late Frederick and Ruby Mullen.
Barbara began her employment career as a draftswoman. She then opened her first antique store in Westwood, MA. After personally designing her own home and antique shop in Sandwich Barbara moved to Sandwich where she and her sister Priscilla Norton opened The Plum Duff Antique Shop. The shop was known for its collection of antique dolls and Dedham pottery. Barbara was an expert in Dedham pottery and had the largest collection of it in the area.
Barbara leaves two loving nephews: John Norton and his wife Patty of Hanson, MA. and William Norton of New Bedford, MA.; four grand nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rte. 6A in Sandwich on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. followed by burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. www.nickersonbournefuneralhome.com
