Born in Braintree, MA, he was the devoted son of the late Paul and Ruby (Oakley) DePesa. He cared for his parents deeply and loved to share their heritage and history with all that knew him.
Bryan was a man known for his passions in sports, science and music. He had a great love for international soccer and local Boston sports teams. His interest in the sciences led him to a long career as a technical expert and educator at Trinity College in the field of chemistry.
Most of all, Bryan was a lover of music, both listening and performing. A gifted guitarist himself, he played with the band Cat's Cradle in his youth and throughout his life he could always be found playing or listening to The Eagles and Grateful Dead.
He was a complex man: kind and stubborn, charming and hot tempered, bombastic and shy. Those he loved, he loved fiercely and deeply. He will be forever remembered and missed.
Bryan was the loving father to Robin DePesa and his wife Allison of Winchester MA, Ryan DePesa of Northampton, MA, Kim Murkette and his wife Lindsey of Essex Junction, VT, Tristan Murkette and his wife Natalie of Amherst, MA, and Colin Murkette of Orange, MA. Grandfather to Nicholas, Leifa, Shepard, Lizzie and Casiopia. Devoted brother to Paul DePesa, and uncle to Christopher DePesa and Gabrielle DePesa.
A private service will be held near his home in Sandwich, MA with close family and friends at a day and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.nickersonbournefh.com for the DePesa family.
