

Born Carolyn J. Campana, she was the youngest child of Lazarus, and Mary Campana. Raised in Wellesley, she became the high school sweetheart of Mark R. Motta, and they married soon after graduation. The couple settled in Weston, Ma, where they resided for almost 40 years. During this time Carolyn first took a position as a Librarian and later as a teaching assistant with the Weston public schools. Energetic, talented, enthusiastic, and intelligent, she made quite an impression on students, parents, and colleagues alike.
After retirement the couple moved to Sandwich, Ma - which was a dream come true for them. Embracing their new life, both Carolyn and Mark become very involved with the American Legion in Sandwich. Carolyn served on the Women’s Auxiliary and tirelessly assisted with fundraising.
In addition, Carolyn volunteered at the Chamber of Commerce, the Welcome Center, and the voting polls. She became a member of the Sandwich Citizens Police Academy, and in 2016 she was voted Sandwich Senior Citizen of the year. She was quite a woman who led an exemplary life and will be deeply missed.
She is predeceased by both of her parents, her beloved husband Mark R. Motta, her son Mark W. Motta, her sister Nancy Hansen, and her brother Richard Campana.
She is survived by her daughter Debra L. Burke, son-in-law John J. Burke, and granddaughter Meghan L. Burke, all of Sandwich, MA as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA, on Sunday March 29, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA, on March 30, 2026, at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne, MA, on March 30, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 1:45 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion in Sandwich, or an animal shelter of your choosing.
