David Donald Chenard

David Donald Chenard, 83 of Sandwich, Mass. passed away peacefully Sunday, June 12, 2022 with his children by his side. Born in Biddeford, Maine he was the son of the late Henry and Blanche (Pinard) Chenard of Arundel, Maine. David was the last to be born of 11 children in 1938 and the last to join them in Heaven. David and the rest of the Chenards are having an amazing family reunion.

David was a veteran of the United States Navy where he provided flight line support for patrol bomber P5M Marlin aircraft out of Jacksonville, Fla.

David had worked as a skilled trade manager for Polaroid many years prior to his retirement.

David is survived by his former wife Rose Marie (Poitras) Chenard of Plymouth, Mass, son Brent-David Chenard of Jacksonville, Fla., daughter Kristin and husband Bill Hallisey of Plymouth, Mass., five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Guy R. Chenard, also a Navy veteran. David is a true follower of our Lord Jesus Christ and loved his family dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend 11:30am Mass at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Sandwich, Mass. and/or burial at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery Connery Ave., in Bourne.
