Douglas J. Williams passed away, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, on March 23, 2013 after a courageous battle with Leukemia. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Douglas leaves behind his loving wife Annmarie (Amy) and son Tyler; his sister Sharon Packard and her husband Richard; his mother Anne Williams, his 3 adored nieces, Jennifer, Katie and Rebecca and many loving extended family members and friends.
He was an avid gardener whose hobbies included golfing, fishing and cheering for the Boston Bruins. His favorite pleasure was spending as much time as possible with his family, dogs and large network of friends. Whenever people spoke of Doug they referenced his goodness, generosity and spirited sense of humor. Adopting his perspective, his family and friends will focus not on their sense of loss in his passing, but instead on their great good fortune in having been a part of his deeply appreciated life. Doug was a long time friend of Bill Wilson and he served as a mentor and power of example to many.
He will be always remembered as a strong and courageous man, but most of all as a loving and caring husband, father and friend to all those that he met on his journey.
His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure; he was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 7 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2013 in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A in Sandwich. Funeral services in the funeral home will begin at 11 am on Friday, with burial following in Sandwich Town Cemetery.
