She was born Edith Page Hall on February 26, 1926, in Boston, MA. Her childhood was spent on a small farm just off Route 6A in East Sandwich. In 1948 she received a degree in early education from Wheelock College and began a career as a preschool teacher in Longmeadow, MA, where she met and married her husband of 59 years, Rodney Huck. Although she gave up her career to be a full time parent of Sue and Karl, she never gave up her love and concern for all young children. She was active in the Springfield Day Nursery, now known as Square One, as well as the Thornton Burgess Society/Greenbriar Jam Kitchen and its recent addition, Green Meadow Forest. She enjoyed many years of traveling with her husband and upon his death in 2009, she continued her love of travel with her daughter. The true joys of her life were her two children, seven grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her entire family and community.
A memorial service in Edith's honor will be held on Saturday September 17, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rt. 6A, Sandwich, MA, followed by graveside gathering at Town of Sandwich Cemetery, Rt. 130, Sandwich.
