Ed was born 6/27/1955 to William and Maureen McPadden in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Ed was an oil field worker both on and offshore for many years. If his tattoos could talk, they would tell stories of Brazil, the Amazon, the Persian Gulf, the South China Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. He then transitioned into Medical Dosimetry, a field he loved for more than 25 years. He worked at both Austin Cancer Center and the DanaFarber/Brigham Cancer Center.
Ed was a skilled jeweler, an avid golfer, a BBQ master and an accomplished skier and kayaker. He was an enthusiast of the music scene in his beloved Austin, Texas.
Ed was known for his great smile which was always present. He was a treasure of good qualities, and he went through life with courage. Ed was larger than life and known by those who loved him as Big Ed.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Boyle and his stepdaughter, Tess Doyle and her 3 children; Rose, James and Johnny, who he adored. He is also survived by his mother and 4 siblings: William (Kathy), James, Maureen (Kevin) and Ellen (Ron). He loved his 7 nieces and nephews: Shaena, Patrick, Erin, Kyle, Barrett, Chan and Brigham.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to HAAM, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians at www.myhaam.org/donate. A private celebration of life is planned
