Elsie Lydia (Negris) Blackie of Sandwich, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 23, 2022. She was 92 years old. Born on March 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Edward Negris and Elsie (Karn) Negris, sister of the late David and Raymond Negris. Her beloved husband of 63 years, John, predeceased her in 2015.
Raised in Flushing, NY, she attended PS 32 and graduated in 1947 from Bayside High School. She worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance in NYC followed by Birtwhistle and Livingston Insurance in Englewood, NJ.
Elsie gave her life to Jesus at an early age. Through her dedication to Him, she faithfully served in churches as a choir member, deaconess, and Pioneer Girls leader. She will forever be remembered as a woman deeply devoted to prayer and the ministry of encouragement. With an open Bible, boxes of note cards, folders of poems and her beautiful handwriting, she impacted people worldwide with the loving kindness of her Savior.
Elsie married John Blackie in 1952. They moved to northern New Jersey and lived there for the next 42 years before relocating to East Sandwich, MA in 1994.
Elsie is survived by her two daughters, Linda and her husband Timothy Stoll of Eastham, MA and Marilyn and her husband Bob Davidson of Eastham, MA. Elsie was a loving grandmother to 6 grandchildren, Kristin & her husband Tom, Jennifer & her husband Barry, Jonathan & his wife Allison, Christopher & his wife Jennifer, Jessica (predeceased), and Ashley Davidson & Dylan Tremblay; and ten great-grandchildren, Lydia, Kathryn, Andrew, Melanie, Tyler (predeceased), Alexa, Brooke, Mackenzie, Scott, and Delylah.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:30 am followed by a celebration of her life at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A in Sandwich, MA on Friday, July 1, 2022. A private burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Sandwich.
