Eric Franklin Branzetti passed away on June 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous six-year battle with heart and kidney disease while awaiting a heart and kidney transplant.
Eric is survived by his beloved wife, Jo-Ann, and their three children: Kristen (Branzetti) Mihaly of Bradford, NH; Matthew Branzetti of Sandwich, MA; and Daniel Branzetti of Plymouth, MA. He is also survived by Kristen’s husband, Dean Mihaly, and their three children; Henry, Charlotte, and Emilia who brought him immense joy. Additionally, Eric is survived by his sister, Linda Branzetti of Burlington, MA; his brother, Greg Branzetti of Moultonborough, NH; and his sister-in-law, Jennifer Battaglino, her husband, Stephen, and their children, Sara, Christopher, and Alessandra Battaglino of New Rochelle, NY. He also held a special place in his heart for Taylor-Lynne Cabral of Marstons Mills, MA.
Born in Baltimore, MD, to Marilyn and Paul Branzetti, Eric’s family soon moved to Needham, MA, where his roots were firmly planted. He met his lifelong friends in “the neighborhood” and developed a passion for hockey, soccer, and spirited competition. To Eric, friends were family. Many of his closest friendships began in grade school and lasted throughout his life. He attended Needham Public Schools and graduated from Buckingham Browne & Nichols in 1981.
At age 13, Eric met the love of his life, Jo-Ann Scavera of Rye, NY, on the beaches of Lake Winnipesaukee. They fell in love over summers, exchanging letters, and dating long-distance for nine years before marrying in 1987. They settled in Sandwich, MA, where they built a beautiful life and family. Everything Eric did was for his loved ones, who made him incredibly proud.
Eric and Jo-Ann moved to Cape Cod to help support his parents' family business, The Vacuum and Sewing Machine House in Hyannis and Yarmouth, MA. After the business was sold, Eric owned and operated JEB Property Management and Construction, where he was known for his meticulous attention to detail and pride in his work.
He had a deep love for Wolfeboro, NH, and Lake Winnipesaukee, always encouraging everyone to have, “Big Fun on the Big Lake.”
A lifelong athlete, Eric played hockey throughout his life and had a deep passion for golf. He was a former member of Cummaquid Golf Club in Barnstable, MA. Never one to turn down a good bet, a quick lunch, or a night at the movies, Eric lived a full and well-loved life.
In his later years, he found great joy in being a grandfather. His favorite role was “Bee.” He loved watching Henry play hockey and Charlotte bring laughter to every room. They had him wrapped around their fingers. Emilia was born 17 days early, just in time for fate to allow her to meet her “Bee.”
Eric had a deep respect for members of the Armed Services and often paid for their meals anonymously as a gesture of gratitude. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to pay it forward in Eric’s memory.
