Francis Joseph Szuluk
January 1, 1924 – July 27, 2018
Francis Joseph Szuluk, of Sandwich passed away Friday morning July 27, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was 94 years old. He was the loving husband of his beloved wife Mary who passed away in March 2017.
Born in Boston, MA, a son of the late Felix and Leonora (Pawlicka) Szuluk. Francis was born and raised in the Boston area and resided for the last 25 years in East Sandwich and most recently in Brooklyn, CT. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a Radio Operator and Coder. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and European/African/Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. He graduated from Northeastern University and worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Hershey's Chocolate, Honeywell and Stop & Shop.
He was an avid golfer and was a devoted fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics.
Francis is survived by his five children, Donald Szuluk of Kingsport, Tennessee, his wife Patty and their four children, Robert Szuluk of Watertown, MA, Lisa Cataldo of Brooklyn, CT her husband Anthony and their two children, Karyn Stewart of Mashpee, MA, her husband Roland and their two children, Sandy Parker of Nashua, NH her husband Dennis and her son. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Corpus Christi Parish 324 Quaker Meeting House Road East Sandwich, MA. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral mass from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 154 Route 6A Sandwich, MA.
