Frank P. Christiani

September 19, 1930November 4, 2020

Frank P. Christiani, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 4th, 2020.

Frank moved to Sandwich in his younger years and later went on to become a general contractor. As a general contractor, Frank used his talents to develop the beautiful Rof-Mar Estate and even became owner of the Rof-Mar Club that is nestled on the property alongside Lawrence Pond.

Frank loved life! He used this love of life to become a certified Ballroom Dance Instructor. Students would come from miles around to take part in one of his classes. Oftentimes Frank would stand in the back of the ballroom, his eyes filled with joyful tears, as he watched his students dance around the room. He was so proud of them! Frank was also a member of several clubs: the YMCA, the Elks, and the Yarmouth Senior Club.

Frank was a devoted parishioner at Corpus Christi Parish and a fervent man of faith. He was very close to and respected Reverend George E. Harrison, the deacons, the ushers and all his friends at church.

Frank leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary of 68 years. He also leaves behind two sons: Nick and Frank, a daughter Jean, son-in-law Michael, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a loving and caring daughter-in-law, Doris, who helped Frank in so many ways, a sister-in-law, Kay, several nieces and nephews, numerous nurses and doctors who cared for him, as well as, all of the countless friends he made at Snap Gym and the Sandwich Housing. He is recently predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Trish.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 12th from 9:30am to 10:30AM at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 MA-6A, Sandwich, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am at Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Rd, East Sandwich, MA. This will be followed by burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 12:45pm.

Frank loved his family and was so proud of them. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him but will forever be in our hearts!

Dear Mrs. Christiani, Jeannie, Frankie, and Nick,
I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Christiani’s passing. He was such a warm and generous man who loved people and life. I have so many happy memories of the 4th of July’s we spent at your Quincy home with hospitality and a cookout spread par none and him as the warm and welcoming host with the prettiest, loveliest, equally warm and welcoming hostess at his side. I still look for your house every time I drive down the Parkway and smile at the memories of those years.
My parents loved you both so much. May you all find solace in the many years and memories you had with him. I am so sorry I was unable to attend his service. May he Rest In Peace.

Nick, Mary and Frankie, I'm very sorry to learn of Dad's passing. The three of you gave him the most endless love and caring that you possibly could in his final stages of battling his many health issues, and for that, he will always be shining down on the three of you smiling bright. Dad is peaceful now, in God's loving arms. My thoughts are with you. Love, Shelly

My husband and I were married at Rof-Mar in 1987. My parents, Florence and Ferd Schmelke loved going to Rof-Mar every weekend to ball room dance. That is why my wedding was held there and they included all their ball room dancing friends to attend the wedding! Frank was a huge part of their lives!
My sympathy to all of you at this time.
