

G. Warren Bober, 92, of Sandwich, formerly of Braintree and Hyde Park, beloved husband of Anita (Quintiliani) Bober, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. He was born in Boston on July 30, 1924, to Rudolph and Ursula Bober.
Mr. Bober was a World War II Navy veteran and served on the USS Portunus, as well as on the maiden voyage of the USS Midway. Warren retired as the Buzzards Bay Railroad Bridge superintendent, where he was in charge of controlling and maintaining the structure and coordinating the ship traffic with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. During his long life, he developed numerous interests and skills, and established many friendships. He was an accomplished gardener, hunter, fisherman, dancer, and an avid Patriots fan. For many years, he sang with the Surf Tones Barbershop Quartet. During the growing season, Warren - “Bo" to many - shared the bounty of his large vegetable garden and colorful conversation with the local community.
He is survived by his wife Anita, two children, Jerry (Marcia) Bober of Weymouth, MA and Judi (Gary) Baldwin of Prescott, AZ, his grandchildren Jennifer Hall of Anaheim, CA, Michael Bober of Grantham, NH, Andrew Bober of Milton, MA, and Alex Bober of Brooklyn, NY, nine great-grandchildren, younger brother Donald Bober of Portland, OR, and many nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by his grandson Jonathan Baldwin of Prescott, AZ, brothers Robert Bober of Colorado and Herbert Bober of Chatham, MA, and sister Ruth Marshall of Florida.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 on Thursday, April 20th at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA. His funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 21st at Corpus Christi Church, 324 Quaker Meeting House Road, East Sandwich. Burial will follow at the Bourne National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
