Born on April 9, 1950, in Boston, Massachusetts, George built a life centered on family, love, and faith. He was the devoted husband of 50 years to Christine A. Glasheen (Bailey), with whom he shared a lifetime of memories.
A graduate of Dedham High School, Class of 1968, George went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Business from Northeastern University. Throughout his life he worked as a respected accountant for Honeywell, a small business owner, and the Chief Financial Officer of Cape Cod Hearing Services. He was admired not only for his professionalism and attention to detail, but also for his remarkable intellect and ability to solve just about any problem. To those who knew him best, George was a wealth of knowledge and someone whose advice was always valued.
George found his greatest happiness (and sometimes stress) on the waters of Cape Cod, where he loved boating with family and friends. He treasured time spent with those he loved most. He will be remembered for his quick wit, kind heart, steadfast determination, and unmistakable sense of humor. His stubborness was matched only by his generosity and unwavering devotion to his family.
George was the proud father of William G. Glasheen (Kristen) of Franklin, Massachusetts; Michael R. Glasheen (Colby) of Centerville, Massachusetts; Christine M. Chad (Edward) of Marstons Mills, Massachusetts; Jennifer A. Londergan (PJ) of Norwood, Massachusetts; Stephen F. Glasheen (Katie) of Brewster, Massachusetts; Lisa J. Glasheen (Riley) of Brewster, Massachusetts; Timothy F. MacDougall (Lori) of Haverhill, Massachusetts; and Gregory J. MacDougall (Josephine) of Carbondale, Pennsylvania.
He was the cherished grandfather of twelve grandchildren and the proud great-grandfather of two, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
George is also survived by his brother, Kevin G. Glasheen (Nancy) of Harwich, Massachusetts; his sister, Marie E. Marshall (Kevin) of Dedham, Massachusetts; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving parents, George L. Glasheen and Virginia M. Glasheen of Dedham, Massachusetts.
George’s legacy is one of love and perseverance; he leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles to all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the values he instilled and the love he shared will live on through the family he cherished above all else.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, Massachusetts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Road, East Sandwich, Massachusetts. Burial to follow at Brewster Memorial Cemetery located at 631 Harwich Road, Brewster, Massachusetts
