Harvey Howell of Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts and Sarasota, FL died Sunday August 11, 2013 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 79. He was born on March 24, 1934 in Boston Massachusetts. He married Florence LeBlanc in 1955 and together they had 3 children, Peter, Judy and Paul. Florence died in 1997. Harvey married Elaine Marieb in 1999. He served in the Navy from 1953 to 1957 on the USS Wisconsin. Harvey worked as a steam power plant engineer at Gillette then Commonwealth Electric in Sandwich from 1968 until he retired in 1991. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Sandwich. He was active and enjoyed tennis, woodworking, ship model building and worldwide traveling with his wife Elaine. He will be greatly missed by his 4 grandchildren Peter Jr., Teryn, Kelsi and Ceara. He was preceaded by his siblings Walter, Margaret and James. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday August 15 from 10 to 12 noon at the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rt 6A Sandwich. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 at Sandwich Town Cemetery.
