

KRUSAS, James Michael “Jim” passed away at Falmouth Hospital on May 12, 2025. He was 75 years old. Jim was born in Norwood, MA to the late Joseph E. and Margaret J. Krusas (Griffin) on November 26, 1949.
Jim was born in Norwood, Ma and moved to Weymouth, MA in 1955. He graduated from the Henry O. Peabody School, Norwood, Massachusetts in 1968. He went to Northeastern Culinary School to be a Chef. Jim worked in a lot of different types of Kitchen’s and restaurants including: Village Steak House in S. Weymouth, Parker House in Boston, Hummarock Lodge in Marshfield, Wollaston Golf Club, Neighborhood Club in Quincy, Caddy Camp in Hyannis, Ma, and the Barnstable County Jail. Jim then went to the University of Massachusetts– Boston to obtain his Instructor of Culinary Arts Certificate which he used to teach at the Massachusetts Department of Corrections, Norfolk Prison.
Jim truly had a passion for cooking and created many of his own recipes. He will always be remembered for the special meals that he created for family, friends and neighbors. He was a member of the St. Vincent dePaul Society, Corpus Christi Parish (Sandwich) where he also used his culinary skills. He loved spending time with his family, especially being around his grandchildren. He loved the ocean and going swimming no matter the temperature of the water. Jim’s laugh was infectious. He loved to make people smile with his quick wit and jokes. He was a generous soul and brought warmth and light into every room that he entered. He will be missed.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Frances Krusas (Nasise) with whom he shared 48 years. Jim leaves his son Timothy and wife Angela of Sandwich and their sons Timothy Souza, Thomas and Christopher Loundsbury.
Predeceased by his son James Souza father of Joshua and Kristen Souza and his daughter in law Shirley Souza of Sandwich, his Brother Joe Krusas and wife Kathy of Northfield, MA, and sister Laura Hunnell and her husband Ron of Piney Flats, TN. Predeceased by his sister Judy and Wiley Smith Sr. of Plymouth, MA.
He is also survived by his nephews Joseph E. Krusas the 3rd of Holyoke, Ma, Jeremy P. Krusas of Greenfield, MA, and James A. Krusas of Philadelphia, PA, Wiley Smith and his wife Susan and great nephew Ethan of Portland, ME.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday May 15th from 4-7pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A Sandwich, MA. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday May 16th at 11am, Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Rd. E. Sandwich, MA. Burial will follow at Sandwich Town Cemetery.
