Jane grew up in Malden, attended UMass Boston, then moved to Montreal to wed and be with the love of her life, Larry, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Together they had three girls, Danielle and Ris of Jamaica Plain, and Jennifer of Dennis.
Jane was tuned into the spirit world. She studied reiki, tarot, and the healing power of crystals. She used her intuition and empathy to send healing energy to friends and family when they needed help.
She could beat most people at arm wrestling. She had a unique laugh that would draw you in even if you didn’t hear the joke. She loved the Beatles, Cape Cod, cooking with the girls, and the many dogs and cats that were part of her family over the years.
Jane and Larry lived in Montreal near the Barmash family then moved to Sandwich in 1993 to be close with the Berggrens. They became involved with the dance community at Cape Cod Dance Studio, Home of Balletworks, as Ris and Jennifer studied ballet, and Danielle loved to play the piano. Jane and Larry were asked to be in the company’s annual nutcracker production where she played Mother Ginger and the Grandma, and he played Drosselmeyer. They played those parts for over 20 years while their girls danced and played a variety of roles in various company productions. They continued to be involved in the dance company even after the girls grew up.
Jane is predeceased by both parents, her sister Jeannie and her brother John (Joyce).
She will never be forgotten by her Mother-in-Law Shirley to whom Jane referred to as ' Ma', and treasured by her sister-in-law Doreen Barmash .They were indeed close like family and more like sisters!
Jane is survived and dearly missed by all her family and friends.
We’d like to invite family and friends to gather and celebrate Jane's life on Sunday, November 6 from 2pm to 5 pm at the Oak Crest Cove Lodge, 34 Quaker Meetinghouse Road, Forestdale (Sandwich) MA.
