Devoted wife of Robert J. O’Neill of Sandwich. Beloved mother of
Christine A. Wyse of Boston. Janet was a retired administrative assistant in the
engineering field, and a proud member of the General Society of Mayflower
Descendents. Dear sister of Judy Wiik and her husband Ken of Wrentham and John
C. Schermerhorn Sr. and his wife Tudy of Princess Anne, MD. Also survived by
cherished nephews Eric Noble and his wife Liz of Salem, NH, John Schermerhorn Jr.
and his wife Jennifer of Adamstown, MD and niece Deborah Thomas and her
husband Scott of Purcellville, VA, and their children.
She loved life on Cape Cod, music, animal welfare charities, and expressing her
political views. Janet was an avid reader, fantastic cook, and a huge fan of The
Moody Blues (she departed on a Tuesday afternoon, the title of one of their hits).
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her sharp mind, wit, and sense of fun.
Visitation Monday October 8 from 10am to 12 noon at Nickerson Bourne Funeral
Home of Sandwich with a memorial during the last half hour. Interment to follow at
Sandwich Town Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her
memory to the MSPCA at www.mspca.org.
