Jeanne Anne (Demers) Twomey, daughter of the late Thomas Royal Demers and Rosarita Fabiola (Tetreault) Demers entered into Eternal Life on June 20, 2025 at the age of 93. Born in Pawtucket, RI, Jeanne grew up in Rehoboth, MA on her father’s Oak Hill Poultry Farm, where she always joyfully reminisced about her horse Playmate and their daily rides. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1950, and earned a Secretarial Degree from Boston University in 1952.
She met the love of her life, Frederick A. Twomey, in 1950. They married in 1953 and moved to the Cape in 1969. They were married for 62 years until Fred passed away in 2016. Jeanne was a talented secretary with exceptional typing and proofreading skills, and worked for the Bourne Chamber of Commerce, the Bourne and Wareham Couriers, Memorial Press Group, and NStar Electric in Wareham and then Sandwich until she retired.
During their retirement years, she and Fred did years of charitable works through Corpus Christi Parish and the Friendly Kitchen, by locally distributing food, clothing, and other necessities to families in need until they were no longer able to do so. She was a dedicated and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of strong faith, who deeply treasured every family gathering and visits from family and friends. She also loved traveling, and spending time with and speaking with her many beloved cousins and friends.
She leaves behind her son Frederick B. (Rosemarie) Twomey of Dartmouth, Daniel B. (Lisa) Twomey of Palm Coast, FL, Karen P. (Bob) Everson of South Yarmouth, and Michael S. (Julita) Twomey of Sagamore Beach, along with grandchildren Joe (Mary), David (Suzanne), Jake, Nick, Lauren, Jeff, Brad (Jess), Patrick, and Matthew, step-grandchildren Luana and Livia, and great-grandchildren Grace, Margaret, William, Owen, Norah, Mason, Brantley, and Skylar, and Cesar. She also leaves behind her many beloved cousins, and her best friend of more than 50 years, Judy Martin.
We would like to acknowledge and thank the tremendous caregivers that assisted Jeanne in her home over the past year: Vee, Nina, Pilar, Evelyn, Rani, Rogeria, Eunice, and Jessica.
