John was born in Boston, MA to John W. and Helen F. Gay. He was a member of the DeMolay youth organization of Brockton, Jaycees of Easton, Masonic Lodge of Sandwich, and American Legion Post 188 of Sandwich.
In 1960 John Married the Love of his life Carol Ann Bolster. They raised four children, Dorleen, John, Linda and Pamela. In 1979 John and his family moved to Cape Cod, where he is best known for his family owned and operated legacy; John’s Capeside Diner and CJ’s Cottage Apartments, where he operated the business for 37 years. He will be most remembered as a compassionate, kindhearted and very generous man.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Helen Gay and his youngest daughter Pamela A. Morse. He is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Dorleen of Marion, Son John and his companion Deb of Sagamore, daughter Linda and her husband William of Vermont, Sister and brother- in- Law Debra and Gary of Easton,MA, Sister; Janet and her husband Joseph of Tennessee, Brother’s Thomas and his wife Patty of California, Bruce of California, James and wife Maria of Vermont, Grandchildren; Christopher and his wife Jennifer of Worcester and Samantha of Bourne, Five great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held October 27th at the Bourne Methodist church, 37 sandwich Rd. Bourne, MA . Service at 11am, and reception to follow at 1230pm at the American legion post 188, 20 main St. Sandwich, MA.
