
Mr. Joseph P. Roza, Jr., 84, of Sandwich and Florida, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Lunedei) Roza with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Sandwich, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph P. and Marie Estelle (Gagner) Roza. During his life, Mr. Roza wore many hats. He owned and operated Joe Roza Construction, worked as a teamster for a local cement company, and worked as a Police Officer with the Town of Sandwich. Always keeping himself busy, Joe was very mechanical and enjoyed tinkering with small engines. He also enjoyed boating, traveling, and spending time in Florida and Georgia. Above all, Joe loved his family dearly. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Roza is survived by his children, Joseph P. Roza III of Florida, Susan Roza of Florida, and Jane Lewis and husband Jeffrey of Sandwich. Also survived 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a sister, Virginia Rodiques of New Bedford. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Roza and sister, Irene Lawrence.
Mr. Roza’s Funeral will be held on Thursday at 10AM in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich. Private burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
