Judith Crowell

Judith (Roncarati) "Judy" Crowell, 79, a life long Sandwich resident, died peacefully on July 9th, surrounded by her family. She leaves behind Howard "Fizzy" Crowell her beloved husband of 59 years, daughter Lynn and her husband Steve, son Paul and his wife Ellen, daughter Jean and her husband David, her sister and bestfriend Kay Alvezi, grandchildren, Stevie, Danny, Jason, Adam, Ben, Joe and Amy; great grandchildren, Hunter, Aubree and Colin; nieces and nephews, Janet and Dick Winslow, Sharon Alvezi, Carol Boucher and Kathy Alvezi. She was predeceased by her grandson Nathan, parents George and Katherine Roncarati, sister, Anne and her husband Russ Tupper.

Judy held a number of jobs over the years, but her family was her whole world and she loved each and every one of us with her whole heart. She was instrumental in helping raise all those grandchildren. For years, not a single day went by that she didn't have one or all at the house. Judy rarely missed a grandchild's sporting event even if they were in different states on the same day. She was loved not only by us but by countless friends. We will never know everything she did for so many others because it was not her way to talk about herself. It was her strong wish for no flowers, no service or sadness but only to do something kind for another.

Arrangements by the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 154 Route 6A Sandwich, MA.

I will always be grateful for a lifetime of knowing this kind unassuming wonderful woman. I can't even count the many times she quietly slipped in to help out in life's most difficult moments. She never thought twice about driving to Boston to donate blood on several occasions specifically for my daughter's transfusions,or being the calming voice to my Dad and I when my Mom passed away, and along with Kay,made sure my daughter and I were well fed and cared for when my husband suffered a stroke. Hers was a life well lived, and I fully expect,(whether she likes it or not!) for God to tell her,"well done,my good and faithful one" Rest peacefully,Judy

Judy was like family to us. She was kind, steady, strong and reliable. She was incredibly generous and always wanted to help others. She loved her family with all her heart and was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy was a genuine friend. We will miss Judy more than words could ever express. We are better people having known Judy. Her spirit will always be with us.

I am so very sorry for your loss. She seemed a remarkable woman to me. She had a very kind and gentile way about her, yet all knowing and would take no nonsense at the same time. My first job was picking peas on the farm, a great memory of mine.
Love and peace be with you.

My birthday is on January 23rd and more than one of my earlier birthdays were spent sledding down the hill in front of their house. On more than one occasion, Mrs. Crowell would invite us in for delicious hot chocolate to give us the boost to sled a few more hours.

She was a lovely lady.

My love and condolences to the whole Crowell family.
I believe I spent as much time at the Crowell house as my own when I was young. Mrs. Crowell's ( I never could get myself to call her Judy either ) her homemade Tortellini soup was one of my favorite dinners at their house. When I grew up she gave me and several other gals our own pasta machines and she taught us how to make our own fresh pasta and her delicious tortellini soup. I will never forget all of the wonderful memories. She was a free spirit; a kind and caring person and she loved her family above all else.
Rest in peace xo

So sad to see that "Mrs. Crowell" has passed. I will always remember her with a special fondness. To Mr. Crowell, Lynn, Jeanne, Paul and all the family, you're in my heart. Xoxo
Back in the day Mrs. Crowell told me to call her Judy, as she wasn't fond of formal rules. She put my son in front of a computer at under 2 years old. (1980) and took me to craft classes in Cedarville. But she was always Mrs. Crowell from habit. Such a kind unique person. I was fortunate to know her. Linda J.
