Kathleen O'Connor Murphy

Kathleen (O’Connor) Murphy of Sandwich died on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the age of 57. She was the loving wife of Wayne J. Murphy. Born and raised in Worcester, she was a daughter of Lawrence S. O’Connor, Sr. of Concord and the late Jean (Dorney) O’Connor. She graduated from Newton College of the Sacred Heart with a Masters Degree in Education and taught fourth grade at the Decas School in Wareham for almost 35 years. Kathleen LOVED chocolate, being in the teaching profession to have all summer off to sunbathe on the beach, skiing, kayaking, reading, walking on the Cape Cod Canal, the Boston Red Sox, traveling, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. Besides her husband and father, she leaves her daughter, Kaitlin Murphy; two brothers, Kevin O’Connor and Lawrence S. O’Connor, Jr.., and her sister, Karen O’Lalor. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A in Sandwich. Services in the funeral home will begin at 11 am on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 with burial following in the Sandwich Town Cemetery.
