Lee William Gibbons

He is survived by his wife Janine (Bouchard) Gibbons of 38 years; his daughter Lesley Mulcahy of Tiverton, RI, as well his is Sister Debbie McCabe of Grafton.

Lee was born on June 5, 1943 to Albert and Mildred Gibbons of Taunton. Lee graduated from Taunton High School in 1961. He was employed by Verizon in 1969 retiring in 2003. After retirement he enjoyed working part time at Auto Parts International.

In his early days you could find him at a hockey rink with his son Christopher, coaching and cheering him on. Lee was an avid tennis player who belonged to the Taunton Tennis Club.

He was a dedicated sports fan and enjoyed watching the Bruins, Patriots and Celtics. He loved all things about Cape Cod, including boating, shell fishing and trips on his boat to Martha’s Vineyard. He had an incredible knack for finding every nook and cranny on the Cape and enjoyed sharing these special places with friends and loved ones.

He found enjoyment spending time watching his grandchildren play sports, going to the beach, vacationing and traveling south was a big part of his life. He was an enthusiastic fan of Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison.

In addition to his parents, Lee was predeceased by his son Christopher Gibbons and his brother Albert Gibbons.

He leaves behind his three stepchildren Christine Bengtson and her husband Peter. Peter Corr and his wife Kristine and Melissa Corr. Seven grandchildren Nick, Kyle and Erin Mulcahy, Mitchell Corr, Olivia, Emily and Timothy Bengtson. Great grandchildren Mila and Michael Monroe.

A celebration of life will be held on January 26th at 11:00 am at Christ the King Church in Mashpee Mass.
