Marie was predeceased by her husband, Edmund V. Serodio. They were happily married for 65 years.
Born in New Bedford on August 28, 1926, Marie married her beloved Eddie on September 15, 1945.
They settled in Sandwich where they raised their family.
Marie began working as a pastry chef at the Riverview School before she and Ed built the Colonial
Market in East Sandwich which they ran for a decade. Marie’s tireless work ethic also included working
twenty-five years as a postal clerk in the East Sandwich Post Office before retiring. Marie and Ed enjoyed
wintering on Fort Myers Beach in their retirement years together.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed gardening, golfing and dancing. In her later years, “Granny,” as she was
affectionately known, enjoyed the company of her great-grandchildren, playing bingo, and reading. No
matter where she was, she always enjoyed her infamous 4 o’clock cocktail.
Marie is survived by her two children: Richard Serodio, of Sandwich, and his wife Nancy; Linda Parent,
and her husband Donald, also of Sandwich. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, and eleven
great-grandchildren.
