Mary Jane Dean

East Sandwich – Mary Jane (Twohig) Dean, 67, formerly of Plainville, MA went to heaven with her family by her side in her home. She was the wife of 48 years of Robert “Bob” J. Dean. Mary Jane was born in South Boston the daughter of John T. and the late Eleanor M. Twohig. Mary Jane was a graduate of Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School Class of 1964 along with her husband, Class of 1963. She was a long time member and secretary of the Cape Cod Corvette Club. Mary Jane was the creator of the Dimension Center of Dance & the Dancers Drawer retail store in North Attleboro center and Mashpee location which she owned and operated. She loved music, dance, leotards and children. She started in a 2 car garage in Plainville, MA on Lake Mirimichi. She received her training from Herci Marsden, at the Brae Crest School of Ballet in Rhode Island. She out grew her garage and relocated to the Mason Building in North Attleboro center. Then her business expanded and she purchased the Odd Fellows Building in the center of town. That gave her the space for a retail dance clothes and dance shoes store named Dancers Drawer. After 30 years in business she decided to retire to spend time with her husband, the love of her life, grandchildren on East Sandwich beach. She spent her winters at her home in Naples, FL which she enjoyed all her friends and flower gardens. In addition to her husband Bob she is survived by her 2 sons Bob Jr. and wife Jill of North Attleboro, Trevor J. from Mansfield, MA 3 grandchildren Brooke E., Jayden A., Nicholas J., 2 sisters Kathy and husband Richard Selfe of Brewster, and Joanne and husband Don Deay of E. Sandwich.; also many nieces, nephews and cousins, plus her 2 special Yorkies, Ms. Elie and Tucker.

A visitation to celebrate her life will be April 21st from 4 to 7 pm at the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rt 6A Sandwich. Her Funeral Mass will be held April 22nd at 11 am at Corpus Christi Church, 324 Meeting House Rd. Sandwich. Burial to follow at Sandwich Town Cemetery.
