Mary Goldstein

Mary Kelly Goldstein, 94, passed away on July 31st, 2026, leaving a legacy of warmth, intellect, and devotion to family. Born on October 5, 1931, in Boston, MA, to Francis Kelly and Mary Mahoney Kelly, Mary was a proud Brighton native. She carried those roots with her throughout her life, maintaining lifelong friendships forged in her youth.

An award-winning writer at Our Lady of the Presentation Academy, Mary continued her education at Mount Ida College in Newton. Following her graduation, she married and moved to Framingham, where she welcomed her first three children. Her journey later took her to Huntington, NY, on Long Island, where her youngest two children were born, and then to Dallas, Texas. There, she dedicated twelve years to shaping young minds at Ursuline Academy, St. Rita’s Parochial, and St. Patrick’s Parochial. Upon returning to Massachusetts, Mary became a fixture in the Sandwich School District, where she served as a substitute teacher and special needs assistant for over 25 years.

Mary was a force of nature, known for being a fierce Red Sox fan and a true sports aficionado. She passed this love of the game to her children and grandchildren. A voracious reader with a particular fondness for mystery novels and a sharp mind for word games, she was never happier than when she was spending time at the beach with a book in her hand. In her retirement, Mary found joy in travel, exploring the beauty of Italy and France with friends and family.

Mary is survived by her five children: daughter Kathy Brown of Sandwich, MA and partner Mark Dillon of Dallas, TX; son William F. Glebus and partner Kathryn LaBras of Dallas, TX; son Kevin K. Glebus and wife Christine Glebus of Sandwich, MA; son Timothy J. Glebus and wife Cathy Glebus of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter Jennifer Glebus Rorke and husband John Rorke of Minneapolis, MN and step-son Joshua Goldstein of Phoenix, AZ. Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren: Nathan Brown and dog Coco of Sandwich, MA; Sam Brown and partner Emily Candini of Los Angeles, CA; Steven Delaney and wife Michelle of Parker, CO; Kelly Glebus of Brooklyn, NY; Patrick Glebus of Arlington, VA; and Frannie and JJ Rorke of Minneapolis, MN. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Riley, Hailey, and Avery Delaney as well as Walter Forrest.

Visitation will be held at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA 02563, US, on September 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Parish, 230 S Main St, Barnstable, MA 02632, US, on September 10, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
