
Brooke was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Washington, D.C. Graduating from Holton Arms Private School, she continued with her education and graduated in 1966 from Skidmore College in Bethesda, Maryland. She spent time teaching at the Beaver Country Day School and also started a successful real estate company in central Massachusetts.
Brooke was a passionate environmentalist and was a member of the Groton Conservation Commission. In her youth, she spent summers sailing along Chesapeake Bay in a boat designed by her father. Later she was often found on the water canoeing, kayaking, sailing or pottering in a pontoon boat with her beloved dogs and companion Sarah Abbot.
She leaves behind her brother, F. Rollins Maxwell of West Palm Beach, Florida.
A Committal Service will be held on Saturday, April 21st, at 11am in the South Church Cemetery located behind the South Church at 41 Central Street in Andover. A reception will follow the service at the church hall of Christ Church, adjacent to the cemetery.
