After his three year long battle with cancer, Matthew J. Kent passed away peacefully on June 21, 2022 at the age of 60 with his three children by his side. He leaves behind his twins, Emily (Kent) Chasse and Samuel Kent; youngest son Maxwell Kent; and grandson, Nolan Matthew. His children were his greatest accomplishments and he never hesitated to tell everyone how proud he was of each of them.
Matt was born on August 28,1961 in Concord, MA to father Alfred Kent and mother Maureen Kent. He grew up in a large family, having one sister and three brothers. He is survived by Kathleen (Kertes) Kent and husband Kerry Kertes; his brothers and their wives, Steven Kent and Donna Kent; Barry Kent and Vicky Kent, and Christopher Kent and Donna P Kent. Matt was loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and a life long friend to so many.
Matt was a hard-working and talented carpenter on Cape Cod for close to 20 years. He had a hand in some of the beautiful homes in many towns on Cape Cod, forever known for his honest, professional and kind demeanour with everyone he worked with.
Matthew requested to be cremated and to have his ashes spread in some of his favorite locations stretching from Cape Cod Bay to land in Northern Maine. Matt’s life was celebrated with family and close friends at a private location as he had requested no services and to simply celebrate all the good memories so many had with him.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors of Cape Cod Healthcare, Massachusetts General Hospital and VNA of Cape Cod for their constant treatment, efforts and loving care they provided over the years.
