

Mrs. Mildred E. Spurling, 93, of East Sandwich, formerly of Natick, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Royal of Cotuit Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Hugh Spurling with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in Winthrop, Mildred was the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Tobiason) Jacobs. She graduated from Winthrop High School Class of 1938. Mildred was employed with RCA for 12 years as a Service Coordinator.
Above everything in life, Millie had a profound devotion to her family. She dedicated her life to raising and caring for her 4 boys, as well as offering compassionate care for many other family members in need. She loved, cherished and adored her grandchildren and loved watching them grow. Millie’s compassion, dedication and love will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her 4 sons, Daniel P. Spurling and wife Susan of Mashpee, Robert M. Spurling and wife Karen of Natick, Richard T. Spurling and wife Carol of Madbury, NH, and Charles A. Spurling of Orlando, FL. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Millie is predeceased by her sister, Helen Bukowsky and grandson, Michael Spurling.
Mrs. Spurling’s Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:30AM in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday from 11AM until the time of service. Burial to follow in Sandwich Town Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of one’s choice.
