OBITUARY

Pamela Anne Brooks-DeRosa

October 23, 1957May 31, 2021

Pam, who had an incredible sense of humor, braless and having just eaten copious amounts of circus peanut candies and a box of twinkies, sent her last inappropriate Meme just hours before she passed. No, the Meme cannot be printed here. They told us she died of respiratory arrest, but now we are not so sure! Pam wanted to donate her body to science, but the ER Doc told us “No Thank You, You can have her”. So in keeping with Pam's wishes, we have sent her off to be cremated. Mostly we do this out of fear she will actually come back and haunt us. You see Pam was claustrophobic and threatened many a time if we ever put her underground she’d do just that. As a result, her Celebration of Life cannot be held until June 16th. Pam was just as adamant about not wearing black and mourning her. We ask that you dress brightly, casually and inappropriately. Pam was a longtime supporter of PETA and a “vegan’’ who only ate chicken for protein. Pammy loved Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Nicks, probably more than her family, and was a true free spirit so wear your hippie dress, dance in the rain, and sing like no one's listening.

Pam was predeceased by her parents, Francis D. & Mary Brooks; Father-In-Law Anthony (Papa DeRosa) & his first wife Mary and Grandson Liam G. Rilkoff. She is survived by her Husband & Best Friend of 30 years Gerard (Jocko) P. DeRosa of Sandwich. 3 daughters, Nicole DeRosa of Plainville, Amy Feren of Mashpee and Katelyn DeRosa-Rilkoff(husband Drew) of Sandwich; 2 sons, Brian DeRosa of Pawtucket, R.I., and Derek DeRosa (wife Melissa Nunnelley) of Mashpee; Her Beloved Mother-in-Law Patrica (Nana Pat)DeRosa(late husband Anthony) of Dennis; Gigi to her 13 cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Olivia & Noelle Cannella; Skylar DeRosa, Brycen, Deyvin & Rhyley Feren; Noah & Avery Rilkoff; Iris & Hunter DeRosa; MacKenzie & Lucus DeRosa. Her siblings, Judi Gibbs of Harwich, Doni Brooks Jr(wife Jen) of Pasig City, Philippines, Barbara(Bobbi) Brooks of Sandwich, Meg Brooks-Lantry and wife Maria of Sandwich; her close friend of nearly 50 years Patricia Hammond-Akrouche and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

P.S. Jocko says you forgot your cat!!!

In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to the Colin Crowley Memorial Fund on Gofundme.com https://gofund.me/08c7a36c. Pam, like Colin was a kind soul with a permanent smile on her face, and would be sharing this link far and wide if she could. Leave a heart in her name and help another family get through this tragic time.

My dearest sister, your hysterical sense of humor was a hoot. I will forever cherish your quick wit. Recently, you always shared the funniest if not irreverent memes with us, your devastated family.

We’ve been through much together. I’m extremely grateful that we stuck it out through good times and the more difficult. We ultimately had a lot of great times.

We didn’t share much in common, except with family, when we were young, but we sure made up for that!

I will wear a favorite Hippie dress to our celebration of your life. I will sing and dance in your honor. I know you will be there in spirit. …love you to the moon and back. Love you bigger! ❤️

Pam you will be missed, our lives together started 30 years ago when I took care of Amy and Katie as babies.
You met my brother Gerard (Jocko) one day and you both fell madly in love.
You got married, moved to the cape and we raised our families.
You will be missed by many especially Gerard and your family.
Your with your Mom & Dad now in a everlasting beautiful place.

Pammy, where do I begin, so close in age we were often called twins as youngsters. We used that to our advantage in Jr & Sr High. Most teachers could not tell us apart. Sitting on your bed for our endless card games as teens. One game could last weeks. Standing in the hallmark store reading the funniest cards for what seemed like hours, laughing till we cried and ignoring the clerks as we left without even purchasing one. You holding my had as I gave birth to my first born. Me doing the same for you. I went on to have a career, yours was cut short by MS. It never robbed you of your beautiful spirit or your wicked sense of humor. You powered through all MS threw at you & taught us all about perseverance. Your heart may have stopped but your beautiful spirit shines brightly in all of our hearts. So glad we got to have a little sister time & take this ridiculous selfie last month. I will cherish it forever. Give Mom & Dad a kiss for me. Love you more 😘 - Bobbi

Dear sweet sister Pammy! Oh that blonda hair, that irrepressible sense of humor! Pep Squad, Cheerleader, Loving Mom and Wife! Sibling and Daughter, so full of life! Your quiet, gentle strength, and unyeilding faith in God are just a few of my most cherished memories. Rest now in Jesus' arms, your work here is done. I love you Sis!
