Patrick Joseph Dennehy

Sandwich - Mr. Patrick J. Dennehy died peacefully on January 2, 2014 at the age of 81.

Pat was born and raised in New York City. He was a decorated veteran who served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retired in 1996 and moved to Cape Cod. He was an avid NY Yankees fan, and he enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and his many friends.

Pat is survived by his three children, Karen LeGacy and her husband David of East Sandwich, Stephen Dennehy of Jersey City, NJ and Kevin Dennehy and his wife Patty of Chandler, AZ. He also leaves behind his sister Johanna Unger of Las Vegas, NV and his 3 grandchildren, Brian Rae and Jennifer Rae of East Sandwich and Christopher Dennehy of New York City, NY, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held from 4-7PM on Monday, January 6, 2014 in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich. Funeral services will be held in the Funeral Home at 9:30AM Tuesday, January 7, 2014 with burial following in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
