The town of Sandwich was lucky indeed to have Peter as superintendent of schools. He was smart, strong, and most of all supportive of staff and students alike. It was a pleasure to work for someone who was a true gentleman and role model. I have so much respect for the way he handled situations with the schools and I will remember him fondly. Please accept my sincerest condolences on his passing. I hope the joy of all of your happy memories will bring you peace and comfort now and in the days ahead.

Peter was a man of integrity who led his students and fellow educators with purpose, fairness, compassion and good humor. He was humble, supportive, a friend to all, and he brought out the best in everyone. It was an honor and a pleasure to have worked with Peter during his tenure in East Longmeadow. He will forever be a part of our lives.

I wish the family peace through the comfort of good memories and caring friends.

I was so sorry to hear of this loss. I had Professor Cannone when I was in the Educational Leadership program at Bridgewater State University.
I loved his classes, since he was always able to integrate his real-world experience into the class to engage us and ensure what we were learning was relevant. He was also a wonderful mentor to myself and so many others, to help us as we pursued positions in education throughout the Commonwealth. It was always clear that he genuinely cared about all of his students and really wanted to make a difference.
He will be missed!

Peter and I go back to High school days and I always valued
his friendship highly.
At a very critical and pivotal point in my life he was there for me ...right time..,right place!

The depth of my gratitude for
Peter being in a special place in
my life is known to God alone.

Be at peace and may God hold
you in the palm of Hand.

Peter was a positive influence on everyone that knew him. The world has truly lost a wonderful person. He was the best administrator that I worked for and with as the president of the East Longmeadow Education Association. Many condolences to his family.

Peter's gift to the town of East Longmeadow can never be repaid. He was a rarity in that he excelled in the classroom and the front offices, sharing his intelligence, good humor and genuine warmth with the students and families whose lives he touched. Our deepest condolences go out to Peter, David, and Lynn, and to the extended family. Your dad was something very, very special - of course, and we began missing him the moment he left EL.
