Sandwich, MA - Richard “Rick” Cameron Brady, 66, of Sandwich, formerly of Hyannis, passed away peacefully on February 14th. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, January 6, 1953. He was the son of Richard J. and Corynne Cameron Brady and step-son of Meredyth VandZandt Brady of Harwich Port, all of whom predeceased him. Rick was also predeceased by his beloved sister, Patricia “Pat” Branson of Harwich Port.
Rick was a proud member of the US Coast Guard and served as a chef on both the USCGC EAGLE and the LIGHTSHIP NANTUCKET. He worked as a chef at many restaurants throughout New England and Cape Cod including Brax Landing and Pate’s. He later enjoyed his job at Otis Air Force Base where he worked for many years. He was an active member of the Vietnam Veterans and Cape Abilities Programs.
In his spare time, Rick loved playing music, especially harmonica and listening to his vast record collection. He was an avid Harley Davidson fan and follower of the Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox. He especially loved spending time with his family whom he dearly loved.
Rick is survived by his sister Diane Brady Emin and husband Blair of West Tisbury, his nephew Carl Branson and wife Amy of Reading, his nephew Shawn Emin and wife Toni of Oak Bluffs and nephews Joshua and Lucas Emin of West Tisbury. He was the great-uncle to Ryan, Tyler, and Bridget Branson and Owen Emin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Corpus Christi Parish 324 Quaker Meeting House Road East Sandwich, MA. Internment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne. Arrangements by the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 154 Route 6A Sandwich, MA.
