

Born to the late Amy and Arthur Cappellano, Robert was devoted to his family and found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved. Predeceased by his wife Rita (Southerland) Cappellano, he is survived by his children Andrea Olsen and her husband Josh of Forestdale, Alicia Picard and her husband Andrew of Plymouth, John Cappellano and his husband Jason of Marston Mills, Robert Cappellano and wife Yoon Ju Do of South Korea, and bonus son Matthew Trimper of Plymouth. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Brielle, Nathan, Henry, and Celia. Affectionately known as “Papa" he took great pride in watching his grandchildren grow and celebrating their accomplishments. He was the beloved brother of Jackie Kineavy of South Boston, Tom Cappellano of Randolph, Donna Young of Quincy, Denise DelGreco of Braintree, Michael Cappellano of Quincy, and the late Joan Lugas of Duxbury as well many extended family members and dear friends.
Robert enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, from trying his luck with scratch tickets to sharing stories with family and friends. Known for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor, he was always ready to help those he loved as the handyman of the family. After a dedicated career with the United States Postal Service, Robert retired with the respect and friendship of many. Family remained at the center of his life, and his love and devotion will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he has been reunited with his beloved wife Rita. Robert’s joyful spirit will be remembered always and carried in the hearts of all who loved him.
