Roy Roderick Perry

Roy passed away Sunday January 26th. Roy was born to the late, Roy and Irene Perry on Oct. 22, 1943 in Brockton, MA. He graduated from Archbishop Williams High School and then attended Brown University where he played football. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp, and married his wife Jana, in 1969.

He and his wife lived in Killington, VT for three years before moving to, and settling in, East Sandwich in 1972 with their two daughters, Shay and Sasha. Roy was an entrepreneur, and ran his own house painting and contracting business, Roy R. Perry and Son, for over 35 years. He also owned several rental properties in town. Roy was the president of the Sandwich business association in the 80’s and served on the Sandwich Sign Code Committee.

Roy loved to ski and play football and softball. He loved watching his daughters play sports and had tremendous compassion for animals. He always had many pets and was partner to his wife in doing wildlife rehabilitation and releasing.

Roy is survived by his wife, Jana Perry. His daughter Shay Brine, son in law, Erik Brine and their two children Elle and Owen. His daughter Sasha McNamara, son in law John McNamara, and their two children Fiona and Tucker. Roy is also survived by his sister Maureen Monsalvatge, and many loving extended family members and close friends.

Visiting hours will be held at Nickerson Bourne funeral home at 154 Rte. 6A, Sandwich, MA on Saturday February 1, 2014 from 1-4 pm
